Can I send a check using my Spend account?

Acorns does not currently provide physical checks or checkbooks for Spend accounts. Additionally, please note that ordering a checkbook using your Acorns account & routing number will not work. Our Send Check feature allows you to send a physical check via USPS to the desired recipient through the Acorns app and web app. The delivery process will generally take 10-14 days, Alaska and Hawaii take a few days longer, 

 

To send a check, follow the steps below:

For Mobile:

  1. After logging in to your account, tap "Spend Smarter"
  2. Tap  "Checks"
  3. Tap "Send check"
  4. Tap "Get started"
  5. Enter the amount of the check and tap "Next"
  6. Tap "Add Recipient"
  7. Choose Individual or Business, enter the required information and tap "Confirm"
  8. Click on "Send Check" in the green bubble at the bottom of the screen

For Web:

  1. After logging in to your account, click on "Spend Smarter"
  2. Click on "Send Check"
  3. Tap "Get started"
  4. Enter the amount of the check 
  5. Tap "Add Recipient"
  6. Choose Individual or Business, enter the required information and tap "Confirm"
  7. Click on "Send Check" in the green bubble at the bottom of the screen
